Tag Team Series

Pokahnights
March 9, 2020

Due to the outbreak of Corona virus and the measurements we’ve taken by closing our live club, the Tag Team series is delayed until 15 – 19 April. We’ve adjusted all dates in this article. For the latest information about COVID-19 and what it means for the club, we recommend you read this article.

From April 15 until April 19 Circus Poker Club Antwerp will be the place to be for all lovers of Tag Team tournaments. The most popular format in our club is coming back with a back. Our team has worked on an entire week worth of team events in all shapes and sizes. Read all about these new concepts.

For new players we will explain the concept of a Tag Team: you play with 2 (or more) players on 1 stack. This means that you’ll have to consider your companion of the day. Each player has his own style, so we recommend you to find someone who is suitable to your playing style.

Wednesday April 15

Tag Team Switch

In the Tag Team Switch we are definitely switching things up. What does this mean? Just like in a classic Tag Team you play with 2 players and 1 stack. Per table there’s a maximum of 10 players, so we play 5-handed. Every orbit there’s a switch between the players: player 1 will play the first round, player 2 the second and the next round is played in turns. Every 5 hands (maximum) you’ll switch in actions. It’s not necessary to subscribe in advance.

  • Start – 8pm
  • Stack – 30.000 chips
  • Blind levels – 15 minutes

Hyper

A Hyper tournament doesn’t need that much explaining. It’s an ideal poker event to close your night with a little adrenalin rush. The Hyper is played within a maximum of 3 hours.

  • Start – 10pm
  • Stack – 30.000 chips
  • Blind levels – 10 minutes

Thursday April 16

Tag Team Mix

In the Tag Team Mix we combine 2 different formats. At the start of the tournament, between 8pm and 10.30pm, you and your partner will play individually. The tournament leader will try to separate you and your future teamie (so that you’re not seated at the same poker table). After 10.30pm the remaining stacks of the teamies are brought together and you’ll continue playing in Tag Team modus. This means that you switch turns. Player A decides pre-flop, Player B after the flop. Player A on turn and Player B on river. A Tag Team Mix is a fun combination of both formats!

  • Start – 8pm
  • Stack – 30.000 chips
  • Blind levels – 15 minutes

Hyper

A Hyper tournament doesn’t need that much explaining. It’s an ideal poker event to close your night with a little adrenalin rush. The Hyper is played within a maximum of 3 hours.

  • Stack – 30.000 chips

    Friday April 17

    Regular Tag Team

The Regular Tag Team is an absolute showpiece, hence why we can’t miss it in our Tag Team series. We plan it on Friday night. In a regular Tag Team you and your teamie will play with 1 stack only. This means that you take turns in making the action when you’re in a hand. Player A decides pre-flop, player B takes over after the flop. Next up is player A once again, the final move is for player B. When you are not in a hand, you switch again for the next hand. Of course: it’s prohibited to consult your teamie when you’re still in a hand. A Tag Team is a great format that always fills up our entire poker club. We ask you to subscribe in advance. You can read below how to subscribe for our Tag Team series.

    • Start – 8pm
    • Stack – 20.000 chips
    • Blind levels – 20 minutes

    Turbo

Turbo Turbo! This type of events guarantees fast & furious action with 40.000 chips to start with and blind levels of 10 minutes. Because of the structure of a Turbo event it’s a great side event. You can play at a nice pace and have plenty of time to build up your stack. You can start from 10pm!

    • Start – 10pm
    • Stack – 40.000 chips
    • Blind levels – 10 minutes

    Saturday April 18

    Team event

The Team Event of Saturday is played with teams of 4 players. No worries, you’re not actually playing with 4 people and only 1 stack: you play the tournament individually. The tournament leader will make sure that players of the same team are not seated at the same table. All players will play the event separately. Based on the results we will count points and decide who’s the best team. The pay-out will be split: 30% goes to the individual players – 70% will be handed out to teams.

In order to be able to know how many teams will participate we’d like you to subscribe in advance. Below you can read how to subscribe for the Tag Team Team Event.

      Sunday April 19

      Co-Op

In a Co-Op event collaboration is crucial! You’ll form a team together with 2 other players. At the start of the tournament everyone plays individually. As soon as only 9 different teams are still in the running (these teams don’t need to be complete) the stacks of the team members are put together. Then we continue at the final table. At the final table, the collaboration comes into play. We switch the action between players with every orbit. For example: when 3 players remain in a team: every orbit a different player will make the action. Good to know: this is a normal Texas Hold’em event. Each team can ask for a time out once during the final table.`

In order to make the organisation of the Co-Op as smoothly as possible, we would like you to subscribe your team in advance. Read below how you can subscribe a team.

      • Start – 5pm
